Hotel Rutherford, Nelson, NZ
My daughter and I stayed here for a few days while traveling and would stay here again if we were ever so lucky to come back to NZ. The hotel front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is located easy walking distance to the shops/restaurants/cafes in Nelson.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Plan ahead for recreation (by a few days). Getting to Abel Tasman is easy but getting to the Queen Charlotte walkway area, for example, requires you to be willing to get a rental car and drive to Picton area.

Very nice hotel to stay in Nelson
Very close to the city center and good restaurants, at the same time quite and comfortable. Nice ’ancient’ interiors.
