Once is more than enough...

I thought the first night was quaint, no real internet service, no shampoo, no room coffee, etc. The business center is an old desk in the lobby. Okay, maybe it was just an off room and maybe it is more about history than service. But the front desk at night was great so I stayed another night later in the week. Boy was that a mistake. Same great front desk at night but the windows were so dirty you could not see out, the shower was just plain dirty, the room literally smelled old and musty, the furniture was bad Salvation Army stuff, the TV was a ghost show. History aside, it was a bit too real for the price. Thank goodness my wife was not with me. In the morning I had to switch rooms to shower; I just could not deal with the leaky ceiling. And next room was not much better. The front desk in the morning was the opposite of "help" as compared to the great night staff. Okay, so late checkout was more money etc. Really?? How much extra for the flies at breakfast! Have a drink in the bar or a coffee in the lobby for historical value but don’t stay. History and quaintness can only go so far.

Soak in the history.. but just don’t stay.

Great historic downtown hotel

Small rooms but very comfortable and historic. Wireless internet was sporadic.

A warm old hotel.

The overall condition of the hotel was great. It was definitely worth the money I paid to stay there. Although the parking lacked a little to be desired.
