Location, location, location (zoo, beach); otherwise a clear 2-star
Literally walking distance to the zoo, the beach, bike rental sites, etc. Acceptable room, although the bathroom heater hasn’t worked in years, and the bedroom heater is kinda puny. Staff are nice, absent such niceties as room refrigerator or hair dryer. Ya gets what ya pays for, and it is clearly less expensive than other sites in the area (although a Motel 6 is nearby, which I didn’t check out. Even I have some standards.)
Traveler's tip on local attractions
SB Zoo is nowhere near a major-city zoo (NY, LA, SD). State St is worth a single trip, after which there ain’t much to do, and a lot of it costs too much money. Exception is the SB Museum of Art, which is just about the right size for a single-day visit. Fair city for biking.

Very nice place to stay
The hotel was older than I thought but kept up nicely and clean. Wonderful location, walk to beach. Would definitely stay there again.

Nice walk to Stern’s Wharf, even walked back to hotel after dark, safe by the road. Close to all.

Pretty decent
I went to Pacific Inn with my boyfriend for a weekend trip. Pretty small rooms and no fridge but free wifi! if your looking for an inexpensive hotel thats not dirty or in a bad neighborhood, this is it!
