Great choice for an airport hotel
My husband and I were fully satisfied with the accommodations at the Mercure. It’s a great choice for an airport hotel as it is only a 10 minute (or less) drive from the airport and the hotel offers a free hotel shuttle. The convenience is really great for early flights out of Berlin. The only downside is the hotel’s remoteness from commercial and tourist areas of Berlin. The more interesting portions of the city (shopping, restaurants, sightseeing) are easily accessible after a short walk from the hotel to the bus station, then bus to metro train. If you are staying more than overnight in order to catch a flight, I’d recommend you stay closer to the downtown area and plan to take a 30 min. taxi to the airport to have access to things to do to make the most of your time. But, if all you need a hotel close to the airport with clean, well-appointed rooms and friendly staff, I give the highest recommendation to the Mercure.

great location
the hotel was a great location near the airport. We were able to return the rental car and use the public transportation our last three days. The staff went out of their way to help us.

We liked the hop on, hop off bus tours. We didn’t have to drive to the sights.

Right near the airport
I was in this hotel for less than twelve hours, waiting for a flight to Heathrow on my way home from Oslo. I did go to the restaraunt, which was lovely and yummy. The rooms were nice. Having stayed in Berlin earlier in my trip, though, I would not recommend this for a good location to sightsee in the city. Otherwise, nice place.
