Amazing romantic getaway

We were upgraded for free upon arrival, complimentary drinks & canapes served each night in the library & the pool is amazing!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Definitey recommend staying at least 1 night at this resort if you are visiting Muscat.

Not worth a long haul trip

My husband and I visited the Chedi for four nights - from London. While it seems like a good place to spend a couple of days if you’re doing business in the Middle East--it’s definitely not worth a long haul trip. The hotel is nice - as are the pools - but the beach is rocky and not very pretty. The hotel is also in the middle of an industrial center - so don’t expect to go walking or exploring from the resort. You have to travel pretty far to get to any of the natural wonders of Muscat.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Also- the hotel operates on a tier system - so don’t expect to use certain amenities such as the library unless you are staying in one of the suites or villas. Also, for such a large resort--the gym is tiny - and always crowded.

An oasis awaits

This is the definition of oasis. I wanted a place to get away and they handled everything from picking me up at the airport & taking me back to arranging tours. On property, all I wanted was there --pools, a beach, great food and a room that I didn’t really want to leave. Pricey, yes, but I enjoyed it.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

If you can tear yourself away from the hotel, a half day tour of Muscat can be easily arranged at the hotel. A longer day trip to Nizwa gives you a chance to see a bit of the countryside and learn about the country.

The Chedi was great.

Although we did not book the right room for the size of our family, the Manger, Mr. Kahukura, worked with us and our budget to get us into a suite. We really enjoyed our stay there, and although our kids had alot of fun we hope to go back there some day, without kids, for a romantic getaway.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Quick tip, if you want to snorkel from the beach and have your own gear check out the yaht club right next to the marina where the dolphin/snorkeling tours leave from. This is just past the old city by a few kilometers. There is a rustic restaurant with deck and beach with fantastic snorkling off the rocks on the left.

great hotel

Wow, the Chedi is great. The service is exceptional, and the included breakfast buffet is one of the nicest that I’ve ever seen. The decoration of the hotel and the grounds is beautiful- very tasteful and without all the tacky "bling" that you see in most 5 star hotels in the gulf. It was a wonderful place to spend a relaxing holiday.

Quit - relaxing place

Very quiet, beautiful, small a different. If you don’t like big resorts and still looking for something different yet luxurious Chedi is right place for you.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Oman is beautiful. From all Gulf countries Oman is only one worth to visit for vacation. History, nature, people. Special tip: rent a 4WD Off-Road car, buy a Off-Road guide and do as many trips as you can over Oman mountains.
