View
We were staying in an ocean view room for 5 nights. This small and quiet hotel located high in the hills and the view is breathtaking. We had a car, othervise need to use a public bus to get to Sorrento, which runs about every 20-30 min. Highly recommended!

recommended!
The view from the room is stunning. The personnel is English speaking, friendly and extremely helpful with tips on transportation, restaurants, tours, etc. Breakfast buffet is delicious. A recommended stay especially for first-timers needing support!

Spectacular view!
The hotel manager (or owner), Antonio was wonderful and had great recommendations as to how to spend our time. The hotel is up in the mountain about twenty minutes drive from the city of Sorrento. Truly worth the drive. Once there, the view overlooking the Mediterranean takes your breath away. Antonio has an arrangement with several restaurants close to the hotel. They will send someone to pick you up and then deliver you back to the hotel after dinner. We went to Ristorante Don Pedro and the meal and staff was great. The continental breakfast was very nice with a wide range of items that were constantly being replenished. The room itself was very clean with the exception of the mildew in the shower. That is the only reason my rating was brought down at all. Antoher nice thing about the location of this hotel is the convenience of the bus stop. It is located right in front of the hotel and you can purchase tickets there at the hotel. We hopped on early in the morning and took the bus to the nearby towns of Almalfi and Positano. Believe me when I say that that is the way to go. The mountain driving between the towns is hair-raising!

Not impressed
Firs night door handle to bathroom broke and bedside light didnt work. The next day we realized the sliding door did not lock, the shutters were the only thing that locked and that didnt do any good since house keeping always opened the slats. We feel fortunate that nothing was stolen. You have to get up early to get a chair by the pool and shade takes over very early. Internet access was iffy at best. Bus ride down the hill to Sorrento took about 20 minutes. This hotel did not live up to the information I found on the internet.

Honeymoon getaway in Hills of Sorrento
My new wife and I stayed in this hotel after an exhausting 31 hour trip from the US. We were afraid that no one would answer the door at 1 AM local time, but instead were greeted by a friendly lady who escorted us to our room. The proprietor (male) of this establishment was extremely accommodating and spoke excellent English. BIG HELP- there is a book in every room that gives detailed instructions and information regarding history, costs, etc. of all tourism hot spots nearby (Capri, Amalfi Coast, Vesuvius, etc.) The owner was even helpful to the point that when his restaurant was closed (Thursdays) he calls a car from another nearby restaurant to come pick you up/drop off free of charge. The only down side to this hotel is one woman who works sporadically at desk is unfriendly. Everything else, especially views and owner, is GREAT!

The book provided is immensely helpful.

Incredible View!
Hotel is 4 miles out of Sorrento high in the hills with a vista across the Bay of Naples to Mt. Vesuvius.. We had a car but other guests used public transportation and didnt seem to have any problems. The bus stops in front of the hotel and we used it to get to the ferry to Capri. Owner even drove guests down the road to a restaurant in his own car.

This was an excellent hotel; the views are great. Great value.
The manager, Antonio, made sure everything was just right. First class service and attention to every detail. Go there, you will love it. We will stay there again on a return trip to Sorrento.

Great location away from the busy noisy downtown Sorrento yet close enough by bus to visit all the towns along the Amalfi Coast.

Would Go Back Any Time
Le Terrazze has one of the most beautiful views Ive ever seen. Waking up in the morning and seeing Mt. Vesuvius from the patio was awesome. This is not a fancy hotel and you dont get little samples of shampoo and lotion, but if you want a quiet and friendly place to stay, this is a good choice. The room was clean and the owner of the hotel was friendly and helpful. The views are unsurpassed, and 5 euro for breakfast was a real bargain - we paid that much for a cup of tea elsewhere, and there was fresh fruit and pastries every day.
Traveler's tip on dining
Make sure you make arrangements to visit the restaurant at the farm - Terra Nova - an incredible experience from start to finish and free transportation.

Great Location-Classy hotel
Very nice, historic hotel with a great location for seeing the sights in Florence. Local bus connections next square over and Duomo about three blocks down. Staff was pleasant and professional. Room was comfortable. Make sure you ask for quiet room away from street and plaza if you sleep light. Shower is just a corner of the small bathroom with a curtain and a drain. Having said that, everything was very clean and nice.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Highly recommend Guides at Walking tours of Florence for a Uffizi Gallery tour. Our guide had a pHD in Renaissance Studies and she gave us fascinating insight into the major works. No waiting in lines or advanced reservations required. Also try the Museum of San Marco-about one block from the hotel-located in an old Monastery with incredible collectionof Fra Angelico(and other masters)frescoes.
