Faily nice place
This place was better than expected as being rated a two star. It is not far from Romes main train station, Termini. However, it is also not close to any real major attractions--most are 20 minute walks or more. The nearest metro station is about a 8-10 minute walk. The staff was friendly enough to set us up with wake up calls, spoke English, helped with directions, and with the doors that are very interesting and old-fashioned. Our restroom had a very pungent smell so we used the clean bathroom across the hall from our room for showers. Do not expect something horrible nor something fantastic but expect decent value for the price of this hotel. Would not hesitate to spend another evening at this hotel, just might look elsewhere for closeness to attractions.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Enjoy the stroll to Borghese Park, Gallery, etc. Consider the Roma pass or all day metro pass especially from this hotel on days when you think you are going to be doing a lot of site-seeing. However, the sites in Rome are so close together that you will likely only need a one-way pass to one area and back if you keep your site-seeing based on clusters of sites in one location.

Overall a B+
Hotel staff was very nice and accomadating as we arrived at 8am and they let us check in early we also had an extra guest and they brought in a roll out bed. We had 2 rooms and they were in two different buildings so that was a bummer but still not a deal breaker for the location and the price. Rooms were small but very nice and clean with your own restroom. AC wasnt working but not a big deal since it was cool at night. Overall a great experience!!

an adventure
A fifteen to twenty minute walk from Termini rail station gets you to the hotel. Also, jsut two short blocks away is the bus stop. Good location in a quiet area of Rome. It is a fair walk to the Spanish Steps and that part of the city. The hotel is a bit unique in that some of the rooms are located two doors down the block. Our room and reception is on the second floor (our 3rd floor) and there is a very small elevator available - looks like something out of a 1930s French mystery film. Breakfast is served in reception and is typical coffee, roll and pastry. The room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. If you like cruise ship bathrooms, you will love this one, small but adequate. The tv didnt seem to work but Italian tv wouldnt have have meant anything. Its not luxury but it is interesting and we would gladly stay at Hotel Baltic again.
