exceded my anticipations and expectations

i knew the hotel was very good, after reading the reviews on expedia. and the hotel has the insiders choice mark. but the hotel was better then i invisioned. great location, clean and luxurious rooms. the room was bigger then i was expecting. i couldn’t believe you can get hotel as good as this for that price. one of the best hotels i have stayed in. money for value maybe the best.

Traveler's tip on dining

breakfast is great but not cheap. if your deal does not include breakfast, you better eat at one of the many places outside the hotel.

Movenpick Hotel, Berlin

One of the few hotels available on the east side of Berlin, but convenient to all major sites and to public transportation. The hotel has very welcoming and helpful front desk staff, room was spacious and comfortable, as well as furnished in stylish modern.

excellent service, deluxe rooms small

The Movenpick was a nice place to stay. The front desk service was excellent -- very friendly and helpful at all times. Regarding location, there is not much around the hotel, but the Subway is right outside so it is easy to get around. The hotel is about a 15 min walk away from checkpoint charlie. The only compliant I have is that I booked a deluxe atelier room, as it was my husband’s birthday. The pictures show a big room and a bathtub. Another friend of mine who checked in at the same time was upgraded to a room like that, and it was very nice and big. However, even though I had booked the deluxe room months in advance, I got one of the "deluxe" rooms with a shower rather than a bathtub. The room is quite small -- I can’t imagine that a regular room is any smaller. The shower is NOT deluxe -- the options aren’t anything special and the water completely soaks the entire bathroom floor as there is no division between the shower and the bathroom floor. The room would have been fine if I had booked a standard room, but it was NOT what I expected from a deluxe. I asked to switch rooms and was told that there weren’t many big rooms with a bathtub, but I think that they shouldn’t call the small rooms with a shower "deluxe". However, the bed was very comfortable, and overall it was a nice stay, though a little cramped.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Right across the park is the "liquidrom", a very nice spa with massages, saunas, steam rooms, etc. You get a discount as a hotel guest -- take your towels and bathrobe from the hotel. And so you know: bathing suits are required in the pool but the in the rest of the facility no one wears anything, and it is co-ed.
