Dont go here during summer
Our room at the Hotel San Paolo was sufficiently clean and quiet, but there was one very significant discomfort: the air conditioning was turned off in the entire building between midnight and 6 AM! We were there in July (very hot and muggy), and there were no windows in the room so we had to open our balcony door, which led directly out to the roof level of the Hotel. There was no cross breeze at all, so our room was uncomfortably warm by 1 AM every night. When we complained, they said it was hotel policy and there was nothing they could do about it. Bottom line: I would never go back here during warm weather months!

Entirely Misrepresented
The only positive part of this property is the wonderful staff. They are extremely attentive and helpful. I wouldnt classify this hotel as a three star accomodation by the standard of several properties that I stayed across Europe for two weeks - two stars at best. The hotel entrance is set back quite a distance from the main street and not so well marked. The neighborhood seemed a little run down, as did the hotel. While guest rooms are non-smoking, they are located side-by-side with residential rooms that permit smoking and the smell drifts. The room was in desperate need of updates. There were no open electrical outlets, and it was confusing about what each electrical switch operated. The room was bleak with the older furnishings, had ants, and the only window was the the balcony door that opened to a large roof providing easy access to anyone elses room who might have a balcony facing that area. The bathroom was tiled in dark blue, smelled damp, and fixtures were falling apart. I kept feeling like this was more of a hostel rather than a hotel. I would more likely stay at a hostel rather than stay here again.
