Great spot in Nice

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 1 week. The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke English, which was great. There were a couple computers downstairs and free internet access from the rooms. The location was only about 3 blocks from Promenade des Anglais and quiet. I was a bit surprised by the pool/gym area, which was not as nice or large as the pictures make it seem, but it wasn’t a big deal. I’d stay here again!

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Get a tour, maybe from Med Tour...Definitely great for seeing a bunch of attractions and having transportation. Also, if you want to walk up Castle Hill, it closes around 7 p.m., so you have to go earlier. We learned the hard way.

Over Rated

The wide angle lens used to take pictures make the hotel look much better than reality. The hotel is not on the beach but maybe 5 blocks off - easy walk but doesn’t match the photos. The room is large by European standards, but the kitchette is so understocked that it is unusable. We paid nearly 50% extra to have kids sleep on pull out couch but couldn’t get towels, toilet paper or amenities for extra room guests without going to the front desk. The key had to be swiped twice to open door. The pool area is really small. The bathroom lighting is poor and mirrors get steamed from showers which further obscures reflection. We enjoyed our stay but believed we would have an ocean view and for the price expected better service and maybe more than one pack of instant coffee for the four day stay. For the price and the reported 4/5 star rating, we didn’t think we should have to go the front desk for towels and toilet paper on a daily basis.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Don’t pay extra for the kitchenette - it is little more than a hotel refridgerator with a coffee pot and silverware. You could do the same with a cooler and ice.

Modern, with a touch of the comforts of a home

We were very impressed with this hotel. Our suite was quite large with a separate entrance area, toilet room, bathroom, kitchenette, living room/office area, and bedroom. Essentially it could be compared to a small and modern, one bedroom apartment. The kitchen area had a stove top, small refrigerator, utensils, pots, and a sink. This made it easy enough to cook your own meals if you are on a budget, or have dietary restrictions. The hotel is very close to the beach, restaurants, and market areas. The front desk staff were very friendly and hospitable. Upon arrival we were told of local festivals taking place during our stay, and were given a map with the hotel location. Unfortunately, the pool was out of order so I can’t comment on that feature. If we ever return to Nice, this is the hotel we would always choose to stay for the price and comfort.
