The Convenient and Congenial Hotel in Vilnius
The Mabre Residence Hotel was a little hard to find tucked away off some one-way streets, but it was worth the trouble. Although the room seemed somewhat dated, but well maintained. We had a sitting area and a good view of St Anne’s Cathedral, the major site in the area. Personnel at the desk we very nice and helpful. They provided a city map, then highlighted the points of interest we wanted to see. We were able to walk to most of the places. In Vilnius that is a big plus since driving there is very difficult due to traffic and short winding streets. Safe parking was inside the courtyard. The best part was the excellent breakfast with a wonderful blintz like pancake made to order in addition to a nice buffet.

Excellent!
We really enjoyed this hotel, conveniently located in the Vilnius Old Town. The central courtyard provides convenient parking. On sunny days, it is great to have breakfast outside on the terrace. The sauna and small swimming pool were also nice and a good bargain. We had a beautiful room with a small balcony overlooking the courtyard. The room had facilities for making coffee and tea, as well as a minibar and safe. We were very pleased with it. The staff were also helpful, with quick and easy check-in and check-out. We would definitely return to this hotel!
Traveler's tip on dining
Try the St. Germain French restaurant, which is near the hotel. Excellent food and wine! Indoor and outdoor seating. Also try Bistro 18, which was recommended to me by one of the locals. Fine wine and cuisine at a reasonable price.
