Great quality, reasonable priced
Good hotel, great pool and leisure area. The rooms have a large size and service was very good overal.

Not impressed
A very average hotel that charges extra for parking, internet, breakfast... Stayed at a number of hotels during my 5 weeks in South America. Sheraton Barra Hotel & Suites was on the high end of the price scale and the low end of service. Not up to the Sheraton name. Give it a miss.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Consider Leblon, Ipanema, or Copacabana. Barra is a 45 minute to 1 hour drive away from CBD.

Baja de Tijuca...nice but a little slow paced
The hotel property and amenities were acceptable but their billing practices are not clear for certain services, such as billing for local phone calls (?) The location was nice, Baja de Tijuca, but for those in the 18-35 age bracket it was simply too far from the action. Stay in Ipanema or Copacabana...
