Great location
Great location but lobby could have been cleaner. Breakfast room help and room servants were very pleasant. Desk help could have been more cordial. Bathtub was very narrow and you had to stand sideways to shower with a handheld nozzle. Wonderful location, though.
If in Rome you must do the Rome Segway tour. What a blast! And very informational while having lots of fun.

Location, location, location
This little hotel deserves 4 stars for its location! But thats about it. It is right across from the trevi fountain which makes for a great starting off point for a walking tour of the city. But be aware, the hotel is old and not very big. If you are looking for comfort and a little bit of luxury you might want to check somewhere else. Breakfast was decent enough and the view from the breakfast room is quite nice. If you can tolerate the small rooms and beds with the very european bathroom than you might want to give this place a try. If you want a hotel with the feel and comfort of an american hotel than look somewhere else.

Rome is magical, and the Hotel Fontana is part of that
We arrived for our 3 night stay and we were totally amazed as to the location of this hotel. Its tough to really understand and judge by photos and maps. We checked in with Sandro, who was always helpful and kind. Our room was modest and small, but had a very nice "old world" feel to it. It was appropriate. The bathroom was the tinyest part but that was to be expected as well. The air conditioner worked very well and that was a plus. We did not have a fountain view and that was fine by us becuase the noise levels were pretty high, but nothing that good set of earplugs couldnt solve. The Continental breakfast was really good. A nice assortment of pastries, meats, vegies, milk, coffee and juices. It was really great since the room overlooked the beautiful fountain. Overall, great experience and would recommend
