Good all inclusive
The location of Fodele Beach is great, most room have a great sea view. The room are nice, the beds are not very comfortable but it is typical of Greece. All room have a nice balcony where it is nice to hang out after a day at the beach. The beach and pools are very nice. There was plenty of chairs and it wasn’t too crowded. The water park is fun, not that many slided but enough to have fun for an afternoon. The hotel is built on a cliff, be ready to go up and down lots of stairs. There is a little train, but it seems to be parked most of the time. The food was okay, there is a nice salad bar. I was not impressed with the variety. It becomes redundant pretty quickly. There is always spaghetti if you can’t find anything that you want. The local deserts are very good, there is always a big plate of some sort of baklava, very tasty! Smoking is permitted almost everywhere, be ready to smell cigarettes all the time. The crowd of people was mainly German, Russian or Greek. The animation team (which we barely saw) is German, even the events of the day descriptions is in German. Everyone was talking to us in German... There is nothing else around that hotel which is about 20 min taxi ride from the Heraklio airport.
