Jewel of a hotel within walking distance from train station
I have stayed at this hotel twice in the past couple of years and have had a great experience both times. It is extremely close and convenient to both the train station and the car rental area. I would recommend that you map it out beforehand though because it is on a tiny alley-like street that is easy to miss. The hotel itself has a beautiful old-world lobby, friendly staff, and good rooms. There is a convenient water taxi stop a block away from the hotel that you can catch to go to St. Marks Square and the rest of Venice. I would definitely stay here again.

A great choice
After our 2 minute hike to the Hotel, we had not realized how great a location it truly was. I read all the reviews, and part of my reason for picking it, but still did not realize. Being 30 seconds from the Train station area, Vaperetto area, and on the main street that covers 80% of Venice is really really nice! The prices of the some of the restaurants, especially if on the water, are a bit high... but within a few minutes walk prices are back down to 5-6 Euro a pizza. The hotel was pretty sweet! The rooms were nice size. The staff, mainly Rafaelle, was super helpful in English. The bathrooms were huge compared to the other cities we visited. The only two things were that the AC poured water into the room and the I still think the church bells are under-explained here. The AC was really not needed due to the chilly Oct nights. You will not sleep through the church bells... at 7:15 and 8:15am. We enjoyed it though and used that as our excuse to get an early breakfast each day. This was a great hotel and I think Oct was a great time to visit Venice for someone that sweats VERY much!
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
To find the hotel, when you exit the train station and walk down the stairs you turn left, then left again at a VERY small alleyway. At night, it looks dark and unsafe, but once you are in Venice a day you will find that it is just fine. It lies between a coffee shop and restaurant, so makes it a bit hard to see.
