A beautiful and comfortable hotel.

We like the Intercontinental Yorkville very much. The hotel is beautiful and we love the artwork on display. The area is wonderful with the Royal Ontario Museum right across the street and other museums and galleries within walking distance. The staff is professional and very pleasant. This was our second stay here and we plan to come again.

Great location, great hotel

This is a great location (Yorkville). The hotel is right across the street from the royal ontario museum (ROM). Everything is close-by the hotel, including shopping and dining. It was really cold when we were there (December), but the street was nicely decorated with all the holiday lighting and all the up-scale shopping nearby was great (even if you are just window-shopping). The Museum subway station is right next to the ROM. All the major shopping and action is just two stations down on queen street. The hotel was small, but very neatly maintained. The rooms were clean and convenient and the staff was courteous. We didn’t get a chance to go to the Vodka bar, but I would imagine it would be nice. The only inconvenience is getting to the hotel from the Toronto airport. The downtown shuttle will not go all the way up to Yorkville. We had to get off at the last stop near Delta Chelsea hotel and take a cab to the hotel, which costed about $10. A taxi back to the airport from the hotel costed around $45. This is probably cheaper than renting a car and paying the parking fees everyday in the downtown area anyway.

Toronto Intercontinental Yorkville

The hotel is very well situated, right at the U of T (St. George subway), ROM, mink mile, Bata, and the new performing arts center. The room was nice, very quiet, bed was comfy. Lacking in a few creature comforts usually found in 4-star hotels these days (flat screen, slippers) but it honestly didn’t bother me. The light over the bathroom mirror is, strangely, not balanced -- dim and one-sided. As there is no magnifying mirror either, it was frustrating when getting ready, morning or evening. Other than that I found all that I needed for a two night stay.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Take the #192 bus from the airport to the Kipling subway stop (Pay $2.75 C when you board/get a transfer). Go downstairs to the Bloor Street subway line and ride all the way to downtown for free -a really long way to go for only 2.75! Also, allow a lot of extra time when departing from Toronto back to the States, as you go through Customs/Immigration IN TORONTO before you go through security, not at your destination. And lines are long.

A good stay in every way.

Good location in upscale Yorkville; Nice Lounge with live music. Very Professional, courteous staff.

Traveler's tip on dining

Try " Over Easy " for a good breakfast at reasonable prices, right next door.

This is our home base when we visit Toronto.

This was our second stay at the Intercontinental Yorkville in as many visits. My girlfriend and I are quite pleased with this wonderful hotel. Rooms are clean and pleasantly appointed. Staff is very courteous and helpful. Location cannot be beat with its proximity to Yorkville (the ttc subway and the double decker bus tour stop is very close by.) We have found our home when we visit Toronto. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Traveler's tip on dining

We recommend checking out the breakfast and lunch restaurant Over Easy (just a few doors down on Bloor St.) for a nice meal to start your day. Also be sure to walk over to Yorkville as there are many restaurants to choose from without having to worry about driving or parking.

Wonderful location and charm

If you want to be in the heart of it all, this is the place to stay. Across the street from the Royal Ontario Museum. Walk to restaurants, best shopping in Toronto. Hotel itself was clean, quiet. Room was good size with great king bed. This is where we will stay when/if we go back to Toronto.

Very nice hotel

Great service. My room wasn’t ready at check-in so they upgraded me to a HUGE room at the same price. Very elegant and convenient to U of Toronto and Yorkville.

Definitely NOT 4 stars!

Ok.... the location is good. The lobby is nice. But then there’s this... construction on a building nextdoor which means LOUD noise at 7am! The shower is TINY, can’t wash hair w/o bumping elbo. Matress is SO UNCOMFORTABLE! Plugs in room were IN-OP. Toiletries SUCKED. Toilet was made for a midget - so low to ground! Only one pedestal sink, not dualies. Fridge had a fist imprint on it left from previous guest. Safe combination was never cleared when we got there. There’s a lounge on the 2nd floor and you can’t sleep due to the music and noise. Wolfgang Puck coffee was very weak... learned that after I found a plug that worked in the bathroom to make the coffee! Maid service was SLOW! They didn’t clean room on Sunday until 1:30pm! Definitely NOT 4 Stars! I’d give it 2 Stars with POOR accomodations!

Traveler's tip on local attractions

In Yorkville.... Only GOOD thing about Hotel is location.

Everything about this hotel was great. The fitness centre is small but you can get a workout in.
