Clean and comfortable

We normally stay at the Disneyland Hotel but it was booked for this trip. The rate we got from Expedia was awesome! There are two downsides to stay at this hotel, 1) the elevators are extremely slow! Every morning we had to catch the elevator going up to get an empty one, then ride it back down. When checking out with our luggage we waited 25minutes to get down from the 4th floor (Carrying the bags wasn’t an option). 2) There isn’t an elevator in the parking garage, so you have to unload then go park the car, this isn’t a big deal for us. It can be a long walk if you’re parked at the top. Other then that we found the hotel very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. I’d stay there again, especially for the price we got.

When visiting Disneyland area we perfer staying in one of the Disney hotels as we have had a great experience everytime we have stay there.

Satisfied with hotel but not overly impressed

The hotel is nice and the location is great. Rooms were roomy but had difficulty maintaining a comfortable temperature. Elevators are incredibly slow and frustrating after a few days dealing with it. Check in clerks were very nice but the check in process was quite slow. We normally stay at a non-disney hotel but splurged this time with the great rate on Expedia. Early entry was a great perk but not enough to deal with the slow, slow elevators and the room temp issues. Will stay at our regular off-site hotel next time.

friendly staff

Queen size beds were comfortable. Room was clean. The staff at the hotel was very friendly. 10 minute walk to Disneyland. It was nice being able to walk and not have to use transportation. Character breakfast was great - good food, lots of time with characters. Only downsides: elevators were slow, the restuarant had limited hours (only "typical" meal times) and the pool area was just OK.

Opportunity Knocked.

I’ve been to Disneyland several times as an outsider since moving away from the area. Never previously had I stayed at a Disneyland property since they’re so pricey. As I was planning this Disneyland trip luck was in my favor; Expedia had an unbeatable deal that I grabbed. The Disneyland touch is evident in the hallway Musak, ears on the toiletries’ caps, and generally a far higher level of cleanliness than I’d experienced in non-Disney properties. I enjoyed it, but was a tad disappointed in the steep valet charge. Would definitely go again if another bargain opportunity presented itself, but I’d use self-park!

Good less expensive Disney option

We got a deal for 4 nights that was cheaper than 2. The hotel had a fridge, baby cot in the closet and sleeper sofa so no problem with all the kids. Pool was great. We didn’t eat at the hotel at all, breakfast way overpriced. Accommodations were perfect option for a long stay at Disney and you get into the parks an hour early on certain days which made a huge difference.

good basic hotel

It was a very basic hotel but clean. Not too many Disney touches, but it was fine for sleeping. Housekeeping was fine, but they did miss one day. More towels were needed one day and they were brought right away. Snacks and things available in the gift shop. the Lilo and Stitch breakfast was fun, too. There are other hotels closer to the Park (off of Harbor Blvd) but the walk to the Park gates is under 10 minutes. That walk, however, is greatly impacted by the crowds at Downtown Disney, which can be terrible. To avoid this, cross the street from the hotel into the Grand Californian and you can enter directly into California Adventure, or cut out at least half of the Downtown Disney mess.

Great location

You can’t beat this hotel based on location alone. Yes, there are other hotels that have a nicer lobby or fancier exteriors, but our room was great, spacious, clean and comfortable and such a quick walk to the parks and downtown disney. I’ll stay here again and again. The only con: it was really slow to check in but it was a Saturday mid day.

Give Paradise Pier a Try

We have stayed at the Disneyland Hotel, Grand Californian (1 night) and various non-Disney hotels/motels, but this was our first time at the Paradise Pier. It’s usually the cheapest of the Disney hotels, and doesn’t look like much from the outside, but we were quite pleased with our stay. For the money we got a good sized, clean and comfortable room, with all the Disney hotel benefits...Magic Morning early entry, using the Grand Californian entrance to California Adventure, character breakfast in the hotel, etc. The pool is not as fancy as the one at the Disneyland hotel, but was never crowded. One of the best things was watching the fireworks from the pool deck, with the soundtrack provided over speakers. The walk to the parks was shorter than it looked on a map, and we enjoyed walking through the Grand Californian lobby and Downtown Disney. We like trying different hotels each time we visit Disneyland, but I think we would stay at the Paradise Pier again.

Now that the Disney Vacation Club Villas are open at the Grand Californian, Whitewater Snacks (near the Grand Californian pool) carries a small selection of reasonably priced grocery items. So if you are without a car, and want a half gallon of milk or a package of bagels for a cheap breakfast, you can swing by on your way back from the parks. Paradise Pier has a snack bar in the lobby with a toaster and microwave available to use, and the rooms have mini fridges. Also, you can avoid high room service prices by ordering to go from PCH Grill and carrying your food upstairs. Menu prices are about 1.5 times higher for room service for the same item, plus a mandatory 18% gratuity and a room service fee of a couple of bucks.

Another Magical Visit

This was our second time staying at Paradise Pier and we had a wonderful experience. We have stayed at all 3 of the Disney hotels and this one is definitely a great one for the price. If you are on a budget but still want the whole Disney experience definitely consider this hotel. We got a deal through Expedia that even the hotel has never heard of. Great service, great location and lots of Disney touches.

A great stay, am staying again next month.

It is such a great value for a resort hotel. We booked two rooms through Expedia and requested that we please be on the same floor and also that it was going to be a first visit for one and a birthday for someone else. We understood that it was just that a request. When we got there they said that we had an adjoining room which was more then we asked for. When we got up to the rooms there was a welcome gift for both of the people celebrating something, a Mickey & Minnie signed picture and for the birthday boy a washcloth cake. We also got candies every night we where there. They also helped us make reservations for some places we had forgot about. The walk was not bad for us maybe 7-10 minutes, we walked through the Grand Californian and found it very easy. We also used the Private entrance to Disney’s California Adventure which is for Resort Guests. We also loved being able to have early entry for the days it is available which is another perk for staying at a Resort Hotel. The beds are very comfy, but I found the pillows a little rough, next time will bring my own. The layout of the room was great, the showers water pressure and heat was also great. The rooms have a fridge and Coffee maker which we used, they provide the coffee and cups. Also loved the PCH Grill for dinner and was convenient being in the lobby and affordable. I could continue to go one about this Hotel and the great staff but you should really see it for yourself. Can’t wait to stay here again!

Great for Kids!

We had a great time and the convienence of this hotel was wonderful! I would compare a accomedations to a courtyard marriott. It was ok but definatley a budget hotel.. It was perfect for kids, very close to the parks and you could see the fireworks from the hotel. We had a great time and would return.

Hotel accomodation

The service was very slow,it took almost 45mins. just to check in, and front desk personnel were very unorganized. I purchased an annual pass and specifically gave the name for it, but they still made it wrong and charged my card twice! I had to wait 5 days for the credit on my account. Such a hassle, specially if your there to have fun and relax. They gave me more stress by having to call them a few times to verify that the credit is being processed. The accomodation was so-so, for the price you have to pay.Distance to the main park was quiet far, still have to walk 10mins to get there, not very accesible, for it is located way behind the resort.Other hotels around it would have been, and much more affordable the same.

Better to stay at a good neighbor hotel

Hotel and room was very nice. However, there are only 3 small elevators for the entire hotel so the wait at prime time can be 15 to 20 minutes. You can catch the elevator going up when it is not full but you will stop at every floor. The walk to the park entrance is far if you plan to make more than one trip in a day. There is no continental breakfast and no microwave oven in the rooms. The hotel will also charge you a "resort fee" of approx. 13.00 dollars per day for the use of the fitness center and pool whether you use the facilities or not.

Could not believe the traffic noise and noise from Calif Adventure

Room was nice, couldn’t believe the amount of noise heard from a room on the 12th floor. Room looked down on California Adventure pretty to look at but noise until after midnight! Clean but pricey. Close to the park, nice grill inside hotel Won’t go back

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Can’t wait to go back

We took this trip to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We had an absolute blast. The hotel overlooked the California Adventure Park and the television was set on the Disney Resort channel, which was very informational. We would go back every year if we could!

Great Location

Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel is located across the street from the Grand Californian Hotel which is adjacent to Downtown Disney and California Adventure Park. As a guest of Disney resorts you are able to use the private entrance to California Adventure in the Grand Californian. Paradise Pier is the most reasonably priced of 3 Disney properties. Nothing fancy---clean, comfortable rooms, friendly service. Nice water slide when the weather is nice.

I would stay here again

We found a great deal and decided to give Paradise Pier a try. The room is a basic hotel room and if you go into your stay with that in mind, you won’t be disappointed. The best part of the stay was the bed! It was more comfortable than ours at home and we slept great! The one down side we found is that because the hotel is older, the there were a few things (particularly in the bathroom) that showed it’s age. Sometimes the shower temperature varied from warm to cold, and although it wasn’t enough to scald or freeze you, it was noticeable. The close proximity to the Parks made it a much easier walk than some of the other hotels and being a Disney hotel meant that our room keys worked to charge purchases to our room throughout the park. We also took advantage of having our souvenir purchases sent back to the hotel so we didn’t have to carry them around all day. If we can find another great rate, we will stay here again.

Traveler's tip on dining

Make sure you stop by Tortilla Joe’s and have a margarita or two!

A great family stay!

We had a great time at the hotel. We did have problems getting in to our rooms, however. We had registered early in the day (8:00 am) and didn’t get checked into our rooms until 2:00 and 3:30 (we had two rooms).

Good deal for what we paid

We stayed here for 4 nights recently and had an enjoyable time. Our room wasn’t clean when we first checked it, there was a sippy cup just under the bed and some food on the floor. The staff were friendly although we had some trouble with using some older unexpired tickets, the concierge person was most helpful in fixing our situation. The pool slide was closed while we were there, but we were able to take a short walk to the DisneyLand Hotel and use theirs, which was very nice. It’s a short walk to Downtown Disney and about a 10 minute walk to DisneyLand and California Adventure. Not a bad walk, but after a day in the park even my 7 year old needed our extra stroller. The hotel is in need of a Disney overhaul, but it is a comfortable room with Disney perks.

Bring a stroller, even my 7 year old needed one by the end of the day. Disney makes for long days, staying close by affords a nap in the mid day. Staying on property also allows for the magical mornings and late evenings.

It’s Disney!!! About 1/4 mile to the parks and very clean!

The hotel was very clean and the very friendly reception staff gave my children balloons 3 times in our 5 day stay. The courteous staff intend for you to experience the "Disney Magic" in the hotel. It’s great to be able to leave Disneyland or California Adventure and walk back to the hotel. Overall, we loved it.
