What to expect: Brightly colored “villages” are themed in five distinct Caribbean styles inspired by and named after the Caribbean islands of Trinidad, Martinique, Barbados, Aruba, and Jamaica. Each of the five villages is made up of clusters of two-story buildings that blend cool pastel walls, white-wood railings, and vividly colored metal roofs. Each village has its own swimming pool and playground, and offers chaise lounges, cabanas, and hammocks for relaxing on the white-sand shore of Barefoot Bay. Old Port Royale, a festive gathering place, offers a Spanish fortress–themed pool with a slide as well as recreation, dining, and shopping.

Amenity highlights: Old Port Royale opens onto a lakeside recreation area with the Old Port Royale pool that features a slide and a white-sand beach. Guests can rent boats or bikes and use the 1.4-mile promenade around the lake for biking, walking, or jogging. Parrot Cay Island in the middle of the lake features narrow paths with live parrots, gazebos, a children’s playground, and a picnic area.

With rooms spread out through six, colorful, two-story buildings, the heartbeat of Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is Old Port Royale, located near the center. Stone walls, pirates’ cannons, and tropical birds and flowers create a Caribbean atmosphere where guests can shop or use the game room, lounge, food court, Shutter's restaurant, or the swimming pool with water slides. Room service (pizza and sandwich delivery) is offered from late afternoon until midnight.

Shutters - This casual, table-service restaurant features Caribbean-inspired specialties and tropical drinks such as tangerine margaritas and mango mojitos. Entrées range from an all-American prime rib to oven-roasted jerk chicken and teriyaki-marinated tofu stir-fry. Desserts include a French-toast bread pudding with caramelized roasted bananas and coconut ice cream. Dinner only. Market Street Food Court - Perfect for families, this food court features four counter-service windows with everything from burgers and subs to cinnamon buns. The spacious dining room seats 500, and an outdoor patio is available. A Grab-N-Go Market is also available at this dining location.

Bikes can be rented at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, and the resort marina rents small sailboats, pontoon boats, canoes, and other watercraft.
