Beautiful Hotel

I went there during the off-season, short staff but anything I wanted at anytime, even pool service. Front dest was very helpful...bi lingual. As far as the lady from New York that wrote that bad review, have another martini dear.Stay with the local food, very good...fish, but they do make a good amer. cheeseburger to my surprise. The price of the resort..very affordable. Cab ride from David..twenty dollars, also a bus three times daily, two dollars. It’s a grand place Regards Dennis Stubblefield

Quiet but great food and beautiful beach

I went there with a freshly broken arm so I wasn’t looking for a whole lot of activity. It was quiet and I got to relax and heal. The location was very isolated and further from David then indicated. Not a problem for me. The staff was friendly and helpful. The highlights for me were the fabulous beach(including moonlit walks with my girlfriend) and the food. Did I mention the food? Being as isolated as we were, I was expecting to get robbed in the hotel restaurant. Nope, we ate 3 meals a day for all three days there, including deserts, none alcoholic drinks, and I personally had delicious seafood meals four times. The food bill for 2 was less than the great deal I got on our rate! I don’t think there is a lot to do or see in the area and it’s hot but if you just want to hear the waves crash on a beautiful beach that you can’t see the end of in either direction or relax and eat delicious affordable food with a great view, check it out! If I’m back in that region again with a desire for a relaxing quiet time, I will definitely return.

Not the highest of recommendations

This hotel is not near David, it is a 40 minute drive, but the route is well donated with signs. The hotel in very bad shape for only being four years old and does not looks like the photos shown here. The maintenance on the ground and building is very poor. The drapes and bed linens have not been changed in those four years. The bathroom has no lighting to speak of and mold is hiding in every corner. The staff is unable to communicate with foreigner who do not or have limited Spanish skills. The food at the restaurant is horrific and service is slow. You must budget at least two hours for any meal. So not worth it! The beach and waves are lovely but there is so much garbage that one worries about swimming so close to refuse. It seamed to us the only reason the hotel was there was to room the people looking to buy condo next door. We never saw a Complimentary newspaper or a Minibar which is listed as a room amenity. The pool was fine although it needed some repair. The one thing that was really lovely about the hotel is the great turtle and fish pond. We had a great time feeding them. However that joy was almost undone by the dead bird they left in the bird cage behind the turtle pond. They left the very dead bird in the cage with other birds for two days after we reported it to the front desk. Over all it seamed like the hotel lacked direction and supervision. It could be so much more that it is.
