while the historic nature of the hotel was charming, and the fod service was good, the wifi did not work in the room, the bed was not very comfortable.

Old, smelly, and creepy
If you want to stay in what looks and feels like a creepy haunted house, this is the place for you. We stayed in the Judge’s House. The hallways smelled really funky - I had to hold my breath going in and out of our room to the outside door. The place is old, they can’t help it but some things like furniture and decor can definitely be updated. The mattress and pillows seemed very old and were uncomfortable. The bath was a stand alone (which is fine) but there’s absolutely no place to put your toiletries at all. The carpets or rugs need replacing or some deep cleansing. This place just has a creepy vibe to it - I wouldn’t be surprised if there were rumors it was haunted. I don’t mind it being old, but it can definitely use some freshening up. On a positive note, the staff was friendly and the parking was free. The location is good, walkable to the harbor and downtown. I was glad we only booked Gatsby for one night... I would not stay there again.
