Villa Patrizia
We stayed at the Villa Patrizia in July 2009 and we had a fantastic stay. The staff were very helpful and courteous. The concierge was well informed and gave us all kinds of good tips for travel in the area. It was a quick taxi ride into downtown Siena and easy to get from the hotel to the rest of Tuscany as it was near a major thoroughfare. The rooms were very comfortable and clean and it was great to come back to the pool in the afternoon for a dip. The pool was well maintained in contrast to what other reviewers have said.

Not helpful
The hotel has beautiful grounds, with a charming resident cat, and is nicely secluded. If you are driving it can be tricky turning onto the hotel driveway and getting out onto the main road. In general the staff was not very helpful in suggesting eating places in Siena (more interested in us eating in their dining room - not impressed with dinner)nor were they helpful with directions for getting around. Next time we will stay closer to the main part of town.

Not impressed
For the relatively high cost and the three and a half star rating, we expected more. It was not on par with the several other three star hotels we stayed at in Tuscany. The advertised a/c didnt work, there was no wireless internet, mildew in the shower, and more than four lightbulbs in the room were out. The worst was probably the rather dark hallway that looked in desperate need of a paint job. Positives, quiet location three kms from town - short drive but not walkable, and free parking.
