A Positive Review
the shared bathroom was always clean and usually unoccupied, theres other bathrooms located in several different areas of the hotel as well if you need it right away. a great place to stay on a budget. a short walk to kirribili wharf which will take you to circular quay in 6 minutes and from the quay you can go anywhere on the rail.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Heres big traveling tip: from the airport, take the ferry from circular quay to kirribili wharf instead of the train. the walk from the wharf with all your luggage will be much shorter than from the train and you will get a great views of the harbour and bridge as well. buy a "red travelpass" for a week to take most rails, buses, and ferry in the main city areas.

Very good Sydney budget accommodation
I stayed here while in Sydney for a professional conference, and I was very satisfied with the accommodations. Positives: - Being close to the Kirribilli ferry station makes commuting extremely convenient - Circular Quay is just a 6-7 minute ride away - Located in a very quiet, pleasant neighborhood - Breakfast buffet is not deluxe, but good quality Negatives: - The weather was mild when I was there, so it wasnt a problem, but the rooms seem like they would be quite stuffy and uncomfortable in the middle of summer as I could see no A/C unit - It would be nice if the breakfast buffet were open a little later - Shared shower facilities were clean, but could use someplace to put your clothing besides a simple towel rack (and dont forget shower sandals) - Pay-per-minute internet computer slow and unresponsive All in all, the negative points were quite minor, and I wholeheartedly recommend the Glenferrie Lodge to any traveler on a budget. Id stay again.

Lodging Accomodation
This Lodge is in a fabulous location for Sydney for the traveler who is a little on the independent side and can accept something between a B&B and a mid-range hotel. Rooms on offer vary so review what you request. We requested two rooms close to each other with shared bathroom facilities and it is exactly what we got; similar to dormitory style accomodation. This suited our needs but may not be for everyone. Rooms with private facilities are available, just review carefully what you are requesting. Breakfast is served in a mid sized dining facility and was fabulous for all inclusive. In summary, high end budget accomodation in Sydney in a great location.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
With the exchange rate at present Sydney can be expensive. Glenferrie is located across the SYD Harbour Bridge from Circular Quay so ferry transport warrants getting a cheaper day / tourist pass. Glenferrie is suitably located from ferry locations and has a quaint local neighborhood within walking distance to relax and remove yourself from the tourist areas. If you are in and out of SYD for a day or so, no need for a car rental. Trains to C/Quay and then a short ferry ride will get you there.
