Highly recommended

We stayed at the Hotel Elliott during a spur of the moment trip to Astoria one weekend in August. Centrally located in the historic downtown, the hotel is just a block off of commercial street and a very short walk to some excellent dining choices. With lovely views of the mouth of the Columbia River and the Astoria Column from the rooms and a breathtaking view of the Megler Bridge from the rooftop garden, it’s a great choice for a romantic getaway. The breakfast buffet, with cooked to order waffles and fresh fruit compute capped off an already wonderful stay in Astoria.

Traveler's tip on dining

Eat dinner at Clemente’s! If you’re looking for an unexpected twist on local favorites, especially seafood, you’re in for a real treat. Hipster chic with a menu that will please the closet foodie in anyone.

Definitely the place to stay in Astoria

Our first visit to the Elliott was very nice, and we’ll definitely stay there again on future visits to the area. The room was beautifully finished and the location is perfect, right in the middle of things.

Charming hotel with modern amenities

The hotel was amazing. It stayed true to the old charm of when it was originally built but had all the amenities of the modern world. Beds were fluffy and comfortable, and the bathrooms were amazing with the jetted tub and upscale toiletries. The heated floor in the bathroom was a definetely a plus on the cold morning. Will plan on staying there if we ever get back to Astoria.

An Old Beauty Saved

They did a great job in updating this grand downtown hotel. The room was small, but spotless and very comfortable. The heated floor in the bathroom was a real treat in the middle of the night. I will stay there again when I have the chance.

Look elsewhere for fine hoteling!

Overpriced for the ammenities included. The front desk person was ill informed, and could not even recommend a bar/retaurant where live music woudl be found on a Saturday night. The bed was atrocious, and overall, not worth the price.

Great weekend getaway!

This hotel is in a good location, close to shops and dining...but we didn’t want to leave! We spent the evening the basement wine bar and in the cigar lounge. The room was beautiful and comfortable - nicely remodeled, still had character. The bathroom was great, especially the Aveda products. The shower had great water pressure, which is something we really appreciated after getting absolutely soaked at the beach. The only thing we wished for was a mini fridge. Will stay again!

Traveler's tip on nightlife

There isn’t a lot to do in Astoria in the evening, so take advantage of the free wine reception at the hotel or across the street in the hotel’s restaurant.

Nice hotel

Very nice boutique hotel in best location in Astoria. Day staff and wine person were extremely nice and helpful. One night staff had a little attitude.
