The hotel staff is very friendly and accomadating. The hotel itself is conviently located close to many things to see, do and resteraunts.The overall upkeep of the rooms are very clean.

las alfombras estaban manchadas y gastadas,la persona que se registro conmigo resulta que no aparecia despues registrada,la targeta de abrir la puerta del cuarto se descodificaba y no podia entrar,eso me paso tres veces,nadie del hotel te saludaba ni te daba los buenos dias,soloamente lo hacia el señor de la entrada,por otra parte si me gusto la comida muy buena,aunque muy caro era,los precios de los alimentos estaban casi el triple de lo que costaba afuera en la calle,la proxima ves que vaya a santo domingo me voy para otro hotel

Simply Marvelous

As a frequent traveler to the Dominican Republic (over 50 trips during past 10 years) I have stayed at many hotels in the santo domingo area and beyond. The hotel room looked like a one bedroom apt. Separate kitchen area, with fridge and a living room area with a separate t.v. set. This was ideal, since there were 3 of us in the room and we have different tastes in television programs. The only fault (if you could consider it a fault) was that the bar downstairs would not substitute a beverage for the complimentary drink that is provided to each guest at the hotel. Since there were 3 of us, I just gave the "drink ticket" to my friend and payed for the soft drink. Other than that, there is nothing negative to be said of this hotel. The morning buffet was better than that of many all-inclusive resort hotels. I would DEFINITELY stay at the Clarion Hotel again.

Practical

I wanted to stay in a comfortable American type hotel for my first night in country after a long day flying. The reviews said that the Clarion fit the bill, and generally the other reviews were right. Decent room, clean and comfortable, hot shower, cable tv. Everything worked well. The bar in the lobby takes credit cards, and that’s nice. Karaoke was a little loud, so it’s not a good place to unwind. The restaurant looked super nice, but I was in the mood for junk food. Luckily - multiple fast food options are within a few blocks. The rest of the neighborhood is a little sketchy. It’s not a particularly picturesque end of town. Still... it was a good option and it is easy to get in and out of there.

I going back for vacation on april 2009 and that’s my choice of destination!!!

There it was outstanding services, the hotel personal was very atent to all my requested services while i was there house keeping was so much adecuated to my schedules (better than home!!) keeping up the room at all time it was very pleasent my time spended in the hotel parking space in the third floor it was very convenient...internet choices so convenient too!!

Wonderful stay

Clean and quiet, good breakfast buffet included, and nightlife is supreme in the bar downstairs. Helpful staff. You can use the gym that is close by. I will definitly will be back there.

Several malls in a short distance. Baseball stadium at 10 min drive.

Just do’nt Use the phone each call made from your room will cost you, even with a calling card. It comes out to about a dollar a call. It should not be Expedia should aproach them on this.

Traveler's tip on nightlife

Bottoms Up in Hotel is a nice spot to party. Mall next door also nice.when you stay at this hotel you get to use the gym across the street which is very nice.

Room where just as expected, mini bar items are to expensive, Hotel location is good near great restaurant.

The hotel condition is very bad and the staff somewhat rude and careless, I whent to the hotel to spend a week relaxing in a good atmosphere and all i did was get upset with a leak condition in my room and the rudeness of the the front dest staff

NICE HOTEL

The hotel was nice, room was comfortable, the food at their restaurant was great. The view wasn’t that great though, I wished I had better views of the city, but overall it was good, would stay there again.

Bring enough cash to pay for all of your expanses since most local establishments do not accept credit cards and that was my biggest problem there.

Nice hotel for business and very well located if doing business in Santo Domingo

The hotel is in a great location if youre going to do business in the comercial area of Santo Domingo. I has a problem with the internet but got if fixed in a couple of hours. There is a nice low cost cafe outside the hotel, is great for a fast meal.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Get to know a taxi driver you feal confortable (try a few first) and work out an arrangment for special price, so they can wait for you and dont have to worry about finding another taxi. But be carful sometimes, one will "lend" you a cell phone, and this gets annoing because the demand you only use them as their taxi with high prices.

Avoid it

This has been the worst experience in any trip Please consider not makin bussiness with this hotel
