Super!
My husband and I stayed at Hotel Villa La Tour for one night in late September. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and the room was very nice. We were surprised to find air conditioning and a very modern bathroom. Great location in the old part of the city. We would definitely stay here again.

Great old world feel hotel
My wife and I loved the Villa La Tour and will stay there again when we return to Nice, and we definitely plan to. Let me qualify this before continuing though. If you are looking for marble bathrooms, and a large room with a sea view, this isnt the place for you. If you are looking for charm -that really is the best word for it- and old world hospitality, then this is the place for you. We were looking for that, and were not disappointed. We arrived after 5 hours of train travel quite tired and just wanting to check in. The desk manager greeted us warmly, and offered a glass of a local wine and a seat at an antique leather sofa in the lobby as she took down passport and other information. She also directed us in use of bus and other transport locally to get around. Ive been told again and again how rude the french are, and again and again while in France found that to be patent nonsense. Villa La Tours staff was friendly and genuinely warm. The room made me think I had travelled back in time 100 years, with shutters opening onto an old city street with cafe tables. Bathroom was small but thats Europe. The bed was simple but VERY comfortable and I slept soundly. I definitely would visit here again.

Another Gem!
This hotel is located on the outskirts of the Old City of Nice. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted and told that my room was upgraded to a larger one. (The desk manager also helped me arrange transportation to the airport for the next morning). Another staff member helped me bring my rather large suitcase up to my room, since there is no elevator. The room was charming and the large bathroom spotless. The carpeting could have used a good cleaning, but it was not hugely important. Walking around the Old City was easy and I had dinner in the Marche aux Fleurs. Please note that since the hotel does not have its own parking lot, if you must have a car, you will have to park it in one of the public lots which can cost 20+ euro a day. A lovely stay at a lovely little gem of a hotel.
Traveler's tip
The tollways in the South of France are mostly automated now, so be sure to have plenty of euros on hand to pay (bills are accepted and change will be returned) or a CB (Carte Bleue = Visa) which is accepted in Europe. I was counting on human operated booths and was unpleasantly surprised!
