Don’t expect the Ritz -a reasonably priced ski lodge
The hotel is a set of ski lodges, spaced over the valley, so you have to check in first at the main lodge to find where you are staying. The main attraction is that its right on the Valmorel ski slopes and everything is readily accessible- no need to use the car. The apartment is fitted with basic cooking facilities-cooktop, coffeemaker, fridge, and microwave- good for making breakfasts and snack lunches of great local cheeses and french bread. There are several restaurants in the village at the base of the gondola and rotisserie chickens are widely available for takeout. Disadvantages are that the rooms are rather cramped and you need to bring/buy basic toiletries like soap and toilet paper. Parking fees, not included, are about 12 dollars a day.
