Super property!
This is a wonderful property all around except for one thing: it has no gym which is rather strange in this day and age. But otherwise if one wants to spend some time in Ubud it certainly is a magnificent place to stay!

Paradise in Ubud!
My husband and I spent 3 nights at Maya Ubud and enjoyed the resort’s peaceful setting, beauty, pool overlooking the river gorge, excellent breakfast and great proximity to downtown. The spa is one of the best I have ever experienced, with a open villa overlooking the river so that you hear the sounds of the river while enjoying an amazing massage. I highly recommend the resort and hope that we can return sometime soon.
Traveler's tip on dining
Mozaic Restaurant is a must - the head chef has been voted one of the top in the world and this is definitely the best restaurant in Indonesia. Book early since it fills up fast.

Great setting, beautiful surroundings.
This hotel is in an excellent location. The scenery from both the pools is amazing. We were on our honeymoon and stayed in one of the villas overlooking the river. The villa itself was nice and well maintained. My one bit of advice is that if you do not like bugs, stay away. This hotel is basically set right in the jungle so you have to expect some intrusions from the "natives." Other than that, things were great. The staff was all very friendly. The spa is amazing and pretty reasonably priced. It is very close to downtown Ubud so I would reccommend going into town for your meals. The food at the hotel was good but there are many nice restaurants in town that are very good and more reasonably priced.
Traveler's tip on shopping
If you are going to Bali you need to at least visit Ubud. We also stayed in Nusa Dua and visited Kuta Beach as well. The quality of the products sold in Ubud is generally better than anything else we saw. Ubud is also known for its art so you should try to get some if you have the chance.
