America’s Best Value Inn, San Marcos, TX
We rented this room in July. The temperature all day was 100+ degrees. When we got to the room at 9 PM, the air conditioner was off and it took over 3 hrs to cool the room down. We could not even sleep. We had guaranteed the room with a credit card thru Expedia so it was paid for whether we showed up or not. The least they could have done was turn on the a/c. You had to pickup your remote from the office. The batteries in ours were dead so you could not use it. The ceiling had a hole in it over the sink where part of it had fallen in and the wallpaper had fallen off.

Not Impressed
The room was supposed to be non-smoking but had terrible smell and even ash trays in the room. Had to get the tv remote at the front desk. Had to get them up apparently at 8:30am when we were leaving they were still asleep and doors locked where you were supposed to check out.

Place to stay
It is convenient to the highway and downtown San Marcos. The room was relatively clean and had useful amenities.
