Poorest customer service experience ever

We decided to choose a pricier hotel to enjoy the scenery of Queenstown. A great view from the deck outside the main lobby area, but that was about it. After traveling and being outside we were ready to take a shower at night, but we ended up not having any hot water. We were told that maintenance people did not come in until the morning. We asked to be put in the room because we had to leave in the morning for a booking. We moved to a different room where the shower still had used soap and hair from the previous people there. The next day we asked for a manager who was not in until later and we asked for any type of compensation for the inconveniences. We were told to stay in our original room and finally sent someone to fix the hot water in the shower, they mentioned was a common problem in some of the rooms, if so, I would expect they would have someone there that knows how to fix it at anytime. That afternoon we asked what manager had said about any compensation for the inconveniences, no one at the desk knew what I was talking about, the manager had already left by then. They do not have a night manager. We were leaving the next day, before the manager would be in again. No one would call or send an email to inquiry about our situation at that time. Also, someone left us a phone message at the desk and we were never notified, after many opportunities to provide us with our phone message. If you want a pleasant, clean, standard working room, I would NOT stay at this hotel.

Great View

Worth paying a little extra for the lake view rooms. A little outside of the main town area, but a bus comes straight to the hotel every half hour. They had trouble with the internet when I first got there, but by the time I left, wifi was available throught the hotel.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

I did and recommend doing the Nevis Bunji, Vertigo Mountain Biking, 360 Jet Boat, Canyoning, and White Water Rafting in Queenstown.

Comfortable 3-star

The room was big and the location, though far out of town, offered great views. The highlight was the excellent service. From the reception to the bartender, we were met with friendly faces everywhere. I would recommend this place to a friend.

Traveler's tip on shopping

Those looking for Lord of the Rings souvenirs will have to go out of town to Nomad Safaris where they have about three bookshelves of various items. Amazing since Queenstown was a central filming locale, but yet there are no souvenirs to be found.
