Can’t wait to go back
Good place to stay. The place looks better than the pictures on their web site. The beach, restaurants, and shops are all within walking distance. If you have a choice, do not pick a room right by the stairs. It can be quite noisy.

Very good choice!
We stayed in Carmel Village Inn for just one time but it was great. The Inn is very near (walking distance) from the main street as well as the shops and restaurants. Even tough people do not walk at night (it was cold, so maybe is the reason) the hotel location is great to leave the car and have a pleasant walk. The staff was very helpful and the recommended a very good restaurant. But they also had many menus from different restaurants that we could look from there and then decide where to go. The breakfast is complementary and very nice. The room was very big and we had plenty of space to leave the bags. We were very satisfied with our choice.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
The 17 mile drive is very interesnting. There are some very beautiful sight seeing places. You can do in 1-1 1/2 hours and costs about $10.
