Fantastic and friendly!
I had to pass through Colonia on the way back from a business trip to Montevideo. I was happy I did, in the end! The Colony Park Plaza Unique Hotel is also a spa resort. The rooms are gorgeous, the hotel fantastic to walk around. The staff were so helpful. I swam in both the indoor and outdoor pools, and in fact, though I had to check out, the staff let me us the pool until the end of that day! Colonia centre was a 30 minute walk away, down the river. I would definately go back to this relaxing spa hotel!!

It’s all smoke and mirrors
This hotel looks beautiful from the outside, and granted that most of the public spaces look good. HOWEVER, the rooms are falling apart, quite literally. The hotel is fine if you’re looking for a 2-3 star hotel. But it holds itself out as a 5-star, and it is not. Food was mediocre at best. I will not return.

Posted: 23-Oct-08Our rooms have been completely refurnished and renewed. Food is great as per all our guests comments, who enjoy a very important full buffet breakfast, a complete buffet for lunch and a unique and delicios a la carte dinner.

Very good but
the weak point was the food and food service. the hotel service is "all meals included" We stayed only one day. We arrived before lunch. The lunch (buffet) was perfect. The dinner was so and so, too pretensious, not enough waiters, three options. We ordered beef and pork. The dishes looked great but the meat too hard and not correctly cooked. The breakfast was poor, not for a four stars hotel.

Posted: 23-Oct-08Thanks a lot for your comments and for letting us know you have enjoyed our property and your stay. Let me tell you meat in Uruguay is not that tender and it is absolutely different to the meat we are all used to eat in Argentina.
