Lovely Palace
Truly wonderful service at this 5* ski resort. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Spa, pool and hot tubs are delicious.

Ski lifts (trains, gondolas, etc...) are far from the hotel.

Great Vacation Hotel
This hotel has everything you could need for a relaxing vacation. Do not forget your bathing suits. There is a large heated swimming pool and sauna area. The spa is also wonderful. We received several massage treatments there which were excellent. I recommend the hotels restaurant for a gourmet dinning experience, but most of the local restaurants are delicious too. We had the half board which includes breakfast and it was a wonderful selection and very much appreciated before a long day of skiing or snowshoeing. The full board offers you a choice of eating breakfast and dinner in the hotel or at 13 other affiliated locations in Zermatt. So you might consider that option. Most meals will be pricey. The hotel location is smack in the middle of the main shopping area of Zermatt. It is a short walk to the train, ski lifts and dinning areas. The hotel staff is very helpful and knowledgeable, use the concierge to help with planning outings. Our room was excellent. The beds were very comfortable with good quality linens. The room was tidied twice a day and well cleaned. The movies in our room were free, but so were the adult movies. You can request a lock on the movies you do not want your children to see. I would recommend your request a room with a view of the Matterhorn, you can enjoy the view while sipping on a café or a glass of wine in the evening.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Consider getting a multi day ski pass. We spent only 3 days skiing and bought a ski pass for each day and it cost as much as a week pass. Also, it might be worth your money to get a private ski guide, especially if it is your first time to Zermatt.
