Budget boutique hotel
I booked a last minute trip through Expedia to Dublin with my girlfriend, and we spent 3 nights at Browns Hotel. The room was clean but small, even by European standards, but it had a vast bathroom, lots of wasted space...but the shower was tiny, barely had room to turn in. The bed was very uncomfortable, and the street noise was excessive in our front-facing room, especially with the windows open...apparently Gardiner Street is a main drag, even in the wee hours of Saturday night and Sunday morning. The front desk staff was top notch, very accommodating, particularly the Australian and French girls that worked there, who got us in our room before noon after we arrived in from the US in the late morning. All in all, if youre looking for budget and youre not going to be spending much time in your room, it is sufficient, but if youre looking for romance, might want to try elsewhere.
