Hotel Zugertor

Friendly, very comfortably appointed hotel, centrally located in Zug. Renowned speciality restaurant "Zeno's". Five minutes walk from the station and own private parking. "The house with the personal note".

Would return tomorrow, if you pay first class air
Of course, its Switzerland, so it will be very clean and well maintained. The family who own and run the hotel are there and very kind and helpful. English is spoken everywhere. My single room was small, but everything I could need was there, bed, of course, desk and chair, fridge, phone, TV, and well appointed bathroom. Oh yes, the great down comforter with handsome duvet. It is a short and very direct walk from the train station, I am a 75 year old woman and had no difficulty walking to and from the station and daily to and from to the sites I wanted to see, but noticed the public transportation was very available, I just didnt need it. The breakfast was more than ample, great coffee, fresh fruit, etc. and pleasant room for your breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel. Only drawback was the street noise, but I closed the window -- that shut out the noise. And there is an air conditioner.
Traveler's tip on dining
Because a fridge in the room was available I bought cooked shrimp, olives, cheese, rolls, beer, fruit, to enjoy in my room. Good food to go very available in Zug, restaurants were not necessary, but there are a lot for every range. I think I saw a MacDs, but I dont go there when at home either. Lovely places along the water for a picnic lunch.
