charming hotel in the heart of everything

The Old Stone Inn was very charming and romantic. The location is better than anything else- a 5 minute walk through Victoria Park and you are at the American Falls- it’s also close to Clifton Hill tourist district where its basically a road with an amusement park! We stayed in an executive queen room. The decor was well appointed and lovely. The deep expresso finish of the ornately carved wood was like walking back in time. There was ample space in the armoir for clothing, and the nightstand actually had 5 drawers of its own. We had enough space to spread out our things and we were to keep quite organized. The dining was absolutely fabulous! The atmosphere was wonderful and the staff unparalleled. The food was wonderful. The chef makes all the jams himself- remember to ask for the blackberry. Superb!!

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Get the Adventure Pass- transportation,4 major attractions and 50% off others. The River Walk with class 6 rapids is almost as amazing as the falls themselves. Cave of the Winds on the U.S. side park was awesome! Niagara-on-the-Lake is the "prettiest town in Canada." There, you’ll find the whirlpool jet boats-- bring a change of clothes!!

Will definitely stay here again next time we visit Niagra Falls

This was an excellent value. My wife and I will definitely stay here when we go to Niagra again next year. Room was spotless and the service was topnotch; better than almost anywhere we’ve been in the states. The free parking and breakfast were a plus - 2 eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast and coffee. Waitresses were extremely friendly nad helpful. We felt like part of the family. Very close to the falls without all the extreme noise of Clifton St. Overall an exceptional value.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Get Advantage Pass for $39.95 gives you tickets to the big 4 attractions and free use of the people mover all day long.Saves you $15.00. Leave car and walk. Easy to walk; expensive to park. Tim Horton’s on Clifton or at farthest end of the falls is best eating value.Sandwich, soup, drink for about $6.00. Kelsey’s at top of Cliton has great appetizers. Go to sites before 1:00 pm; crowds pick up after that. Best place to exchange money is any casino. Best rate and no $2.00 service charge.

Off the beaten track but close to everything

Hotel is charming but there are some quirks. Agree with other travelers - room was spotless, bathrooms updated, furniture quaint. Room is dark - bring light bulbs! We had three people in our room and were only left two sets of towels each night so had to go to desk to get more. On our last night they said they had no extra washcloths to give us. Staff was friendly enough but you have to pry info out of them - they don’t volunteer anything. Breakfast was good but know that the one included in the price is only for two people and is only for bacon, eggs, toast and hash browns. Good news is you can order something different and they will deduct the value of the coupon. Best part was that it’s affordable, off the beaten track of all the touristy stuff and is close enough to all attractions to walk. There is a short-cut through the park that’s great going down but quite steep coming back up! Save some energy to get back to the hotel!

Traveler's tip on dining

Elements on the Falls restaurant is pricey but the food is good and the view of the falls is amazing!
