Hotel Franchi
This hotel is close to the airport. The desk clerks were helpful in giving directions, calling a cab in the early morning. There was no breakfast service for early morning departure (in my case, 6 a.m.). The neighbors were noisey, but I slept well and all necessities were available. Not a convenient place to stay if you want to get downtown by bus.

Very close to airport
A clean hotel with good sized rooms near the airport. Staff was friendly and helpful. Restaurant across the street with a snack bar was helpful for getting food and snacks. Probably not the best if you are trying to see the sites in this city without a car. We stayed here the night before an early flight out of the florence airport and it was perfect, they even made us cappucino at 4:30am before we left!
Traveler's tip
If going to the airport have the front desk book you taxi when you check in, we did that and the taxi was right on time.
