Details

Enjoy the advantages of a guided tour combined with the freedom to set your own pace. While on the bus, your driver provides you with a running commentary about the city and its sights, sounds, and must-sees; but you're the one who decides what to visit and for how long! You can hop-on and hop-off at any of the convenient stops, including:

Kelly Tarlton's Underwater World

Parnell Village

Rose Park Gardens

Sky Tower

Auckland Museum

And in the summer, the Explorer Bus rate includes hop-on/hop-off privileges on a Satellite Bus to six additional attractions.

Hours of operation:
Nov.–April: 9 AM–5 PM; tour bus leaves every 30 minutes
May–Oct.: 10 AM–5 PM; tour bus leaves every hour

Departure location:
Ferry Building on Quay Street

Note:
From Nov.–April only, Explorer Bus adds six stops to the tour via a Satellite Bus. The Satellite Bus operates in the same manner as the Explorer Bus but travels a different loop. Service on the Satellite Bus is included in the Explorer Bus rate. Hours and dates of operation for individual attractions vary. Children age 3 or younger ride for free.

Redemption instructions

After you book your activity, follow these 3 easy steps:
1. Print your voucher; locate the voucher in your travel confirmation e-mail or in the My Trips/My Itineraries link on the site.
2. Follow the redemption instructions on your voucher; it iscritical to do this before you depart.
3. Take all vouchers with you; you must redeem one voucher per person.

Exchange your voucher for activity:
On the day you wish to take your tour, please bring your printed voucher(s) and photo identification to the Ferry Building on Quay Street at the appropriate departure time. Buses depart every 30 minutes beginning at 9 AM, Nov.–April, and hourly beginning at 10 AM, May–Oct.

Terms and conditions

Cancellations and Changes: This Activity can be changed or cancelled without penalty at any time prior to two days before the scheduled start of your trip. The scheduled start of your trip is defined as your hotel check-in date, your departure date of the originating flight, or the date of the Activity if the Activity was booked without a flight or a hotel.
