Itineraries:

3-Day Tour Itinerary

Day 1—Delhi to Agra:
Meet your chauffeur at your Delhi hotel to be driven via private car to the medieval city of Agra. During its golden age as the capital of the Mughal Empire, Agra underwent significant construction and remains a popular destination for its incredible Mughal-era buildings and palaces. Upon arrival, discover one such palace first hand—the world-famous Taj Mahal.

Red Fort is the next stop. More palatial walled city than fort, Red Fort’s towering 1.5-mile (2.4-km) sandstone walls enclose incredible marble palaces, gardens, and ornate mosques and monuments. Explore this grand complex before moving on to the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daullah. Often described as the “jewel box” for its ornate architecture and ornamentation, this impressive tomb predates the Taj Mahal and is regarded by some to be a draft version of its larger cousin.

(The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays; please select your tour date accordingly.)
Overnight in Agra (accommodation on own).*

Day 2—Agra to Jaipur:
En route to Jaipur visit Fatehpur Sikri—the erstwhile political capital of the Mughul Empire. Established in 1569 by Emperor Akbar, the city was abandoned only 2 decades later, largely due to lack of water. Fatehpur Sikri today is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover why while touring the grand Jama Masjid, the graceful tomb of Salim Christi, and the 5 tiered stories of the white marble Panch Mahal.

Arrive in the afternoon at Jaipur, aptly known as the Pink City (after its many pink-colored buildings). Begin with a tour of the opulent and imposing structures at the City Palace, which houses both museums and the current royal family. Stop by the Observatory to witness ingenious 18th-century astronomical devices, including a massive sundial that tells time within 2 seconds of accuracy. End with a visit to Ram Niwas Gardens and a drive through the pink residential and business areas of Jaipur.
Overnight in Jaipur (accommodation on own).*

Day 3—Jaipur to Delhi:
Travel to Amber Fort for a morning tour of this majestic complex set amidst the rugged hills of Maotha Lake. Originally constructed in the 16th century, the fort and its palaces were modified over the next 150 years by successive rulers to become the stately attraction it is today.

Transfer back to Delhi to hotel accommodation or the city center.

I Did It! A staff review by Barney

The drivers are just incredibly nice people, they speak great English, are really trustworthy, and want to do anything they can to make your trip a great experience. They are happy to meet your schedule, which allowed us to get out early in the morning to take sunrise photos, return to the hotel for breakfast, do a city tour, return to the hotel for lunch, and then drive during the afternoon to the next city. It’s completely up to you. It’s a really luxurious service, and great value. I would recommend it to anyone visiting India in a heartbeat.
