Xochimilco—the native Nahuatl word for "flower land"—lives up to its representative name. On this tour, you'll sail past the agricultural fields surrounded by the area's picturesque canals and floating gardens—chinampas. Details

A visit to Xochimilco and its chinampas (floating gardens) is like taking a ride into the past. In the Nahuatl language, Xochimilco means "flower land." The western part of the University of Mexico houses the 1968 Olympic Stadium, which can hold 60,000 people. Guests will also be able to visit the university's main library and view its famous tile mosaic exterior, designed by Juan O'Gorman. Three-dimensional murals, created by Diego Rivera, adorn the rectory on the main campus slightly farther to the east.
