I Did It!A staff review...
Eric writes:Every visitor should go to Tavern on the Green to experience classic NY dining in a uniquely NY setting, Central Park. The restaurant is ornate to say the least, a bit over the top, but that's what makes it so much fun. The dining room is surrounded by windows on 3 sides looking out at trees adorned with year-round Christmas lighting. I was pleasantly surprised to see young couples, families with young kids, professionals having business dinners, and group parties all in the mix. The service was gracious and professional, although not particularly speedy. If you like to linger over your coffee, this is fine. Make sure you have cash on hand; tipping is everywhere from the coat check ("requested" – for a US$1 fee) to the restroom attendant who adjusts the sink's water temperature for your hands.
