With six distinctly-decorated dining rooms, a beautiful outdoor garden for al fresco dining, and dancing in the summer, it's no surprise that Tavern on the Green is one of Manhattan's most celebrated landmark restaurants.

The ambiance
Tavern on the Green is best known for its ambiance. Built in 1870, this Central Park gem now has a whimsical, Oz-like character. With an unrivaled backdrop and festive atmosphere, this restaurant attracts New Yorkers looking to celebrate and tourists seeking a meal with a view. A "must-see" claims Zagat.

The food
Choose from cosmopolitan meat, fish, and seafood dishes, pastas, signature salads, and delectable desserts. Enjoy an eclectic menu of contemporary American and seasonal fare.

The décor
Be dazzled by Tavern on the Green’s glittering light: sunlight or moonlight pouring through glass walls, flickering candlelight, and the reflected light from etched mirrors. Whimsical topiaries adorn the Crystal Garden used for dancing in the summer. Hand-hewn rafters and vaulted, hand-carved ceilings rise above décor that varies from baroque to rococo. Stained glass, original paintings, antiques, and two giant murals grace the six dining rooms. Forty-five chandeliers illuminate the rooms where Manhattan’s rich and famous have dined for nearly a century.

From May through September, guests may dine al fresco in the outdoor garden or relax with a cocktail at the Garden Bar. The summer months also feature live music and dancing nightly from 7:00 p.m. on, weather permitting. The Garden’s club-quality dance floor and sound system set the stage for live acoustic performances and musical theme nights.

The above 3-course menu is more appropriate for customers ages 13 and older. Tavern on the Green has a special children's menu that can be ordered from on the day of your reservation.

Every visitor should go to Tavern on the Green to experience classic NY dining in a uniquely NY setting, Central Park. The restaurant is ornate to say the least, a bit over the top, but that's what makes it so much fun. The dining room is surrounded by windows on 3 sides looking out at trees adorned with year-round Christmas lighting. I was pleasantly surprised to see young couples, families with young kids, professionals having business dinners, and group parties all in the mix. The service was gracious and professional, although not particularly speedy. If you like to linger over your coffee, this is fine. Make sure you have cash on hand; tipping is everywhere from the coat check ("requested" – for a US$1 fee) to the restroom attendant who adjusts the sink's water temperature for your hands.


Redemption instructions
After you book your activity, follow these 3 easy steps:
1. Print your voucher; locate the voucher in your travel confirmation e-mail or in the My Trips/My Itineraries link on the site.
2. Follow the redemption instructions on your voucher; it iscritical to do this before you depart.
3. Take all vouchers with you; you must redeem one voucher per person.

Exchange your voucher for activity:
Reservations are required: After booking online and printing your voucher, you must call Tavern on the Green as far in advance of your arrival as possible to schedule a time and to confirm your chosen date. You will not be guaranteed a table without advance reservations. This final step is required to confirm your participation. The customer service phone number appears on your voucher. Reservations are accepted up to 45 days in advance. When you make your reservation,please be sure to state that you will be using a pre-paid voucher. Upon arrival at the restaurant, you must present the voucher at the table to the Captain before ordering.
Terms and conditions
Reservations are required and subject to availability. You will not be guaranteed a table without advance reservations. If you are celebrating a special occasion, advise the reservations staff when calling to confirm your reservation and request that balloons be provided for your table. Due to the scheduling of a private event, the restaurant may be closed to the general public on occasion. Menu items are subject to availability and may change without prior notice.

Cancellations and Changes: This Activity can be changed or cancelled without penalty at any time prior to two days before the scheduled start of your trip. The scheduled start of your trip is defined as your hotel check-in date, your departure date of the originating flight, or the date of the Activity if the Activity was booked without a flight or a hotel.
