Pale, beautiful, and pure as the moon, Princess Salomé is an object of desire not only for her father-in-law, Herod, but also the captain Narraboth. But the young princess falls in love with the prophet Jochanaan and—ultimately—provokes their deaths.
Based on a play by Oscar Wilde and turned into an opera by Richard Strauss, Salomé reflects the dark side of Strauss' work. The opera is a veritable symphony, whose wild and unleashed score sometimes approaches hysteria.

On the evening of your scheduled performance, please present your signed voucher(s) at the main ticket desk at the Opéra Bastille; the full address will appear on your printed voucher. Voucher(s) will only be exchanged within the 30 minutes prior to the performance. |
