Discover the most important sites of Ancient Rome in a single day! This two-in-one tour is made up of morning and afternoon highlights.

Spend the morning exploring the art and famed location that defines the beginning of Rome, at the Capitoline Museums and Capitoline Hill. One of the seven hills of Rome, the Capitoline's history characterizes it as the first capitol of the Roman World; and it is in fact from this very hill that the word "capitol" came to be. The Capitoline Museums contain some of the most defining artworks of the Ancient Roman world. The morning portion of the tour ends at the terrace of Victor Emmanuel Monument (Vittorio Emanuele). Before breaking for lunch, don't miss out on the stunning Roman skyline, including views of the remains of the Roman Forum and Colosseum, where the afternoon portion of the tour picks up after a two-hour break.

Lunch is on your own, but then meet back with the group at 2:45 PM to visit Ancient Rome’s top three areas: the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, and the Palatine Hill. Inside the Colosseum, listen as your guide walks you through the bloody past of the amphitheatre and you hear tales of gladiators, mock sea-battles, and executions. After a brief rest at the Arch of Constantine, it's on to Palatine Hill—the most famous of the seven hills of Rome. From here, admire the views of the Roman Forum and Nero's Circus Maximus, where chariot races were once held. The last stop of the tour is a walk along theVia Sacra or Sacred Way—the main path through the Roman Forum that once sparkled with festivals and triumphal processions. The tour concludes at the Temple which houses the altar where Julius Caesar was cremated.
