Day 2: Braulio Carillo Park and Tortuguero National Park
An early morning departure will have you traveling through one of Costa Rica’s most scenic parks, Braulio Carrillo. Continue the journey through banana plantations heading for the lowland province of Limon. Here a boat waits to take you to the heart of Tortuguero National Park for an exploration of its intricate system of natural canals and waterways. Relax and take in the beauty as you journey by water—completely surrounded by Torguero’s lush vegetation and abundant wildlife. A cozy lodge inside the park will be your base of discovery for the next few days.
All meals are included.

Day 3: Tortuguero National Park
Today your naturalist tour guide takes you to further explore the canals of this lush rainforest region in the morning followed by a nature hike down several park trails. Then visit the quaint village of Tortuguero to see the people who call this nature paradise home.
All meals are included.

Day 4: Tortuguero National Park to San Jose
Depart early to further enjoy the lovely surroundings of Costa Rica’s “Amazon” before heading back to San Jose. Travel first by water and then by land.
Breakfast and lunch are included.

Day 5: Irazu Volcano, Cartago, and Orosi Valley
Today’s tour offers a unique opportunity to visit Irazu Volcano (the old capital city of Cartago) and picturesque Orosi Valley—an area rich in colonial history. The trip begins by leaving San Jose behind and heading east for an hour, climbing toward Costa Rica’s tallest volcano. The summit of the volcano has often been described as the only surface on earth that closely resembles a lunar landscape. On a clear day, you can actually catch a glimpse of both the Pacific and Atlantic coasts from one place at this inspiring altitude.

After walking along the crater beds, the tour continues to Cartago for a visit to the Basilica, the most important center of religion in Costa Rica. Next, descend to historic and colorful Orosi Valley, home of the first Spanish settlers. Here, visit the ruins of the oldest Church in Costa Rica as well as the Orosi Colonial Church.

(Guests that that arrive to Costa Rica on Fridays and Sundays will visit Poas Volcano, Doka Estate, and Sarchí instead of Irazu Volcano, Orosí, and Lankaster.)
Breakfast and lunch are included.

Day 6: Arenal Volcano and Hot Springs & Spa
Visit Arenal Volcano, the most active in Costa Rica and take the opportunity to relax at a hot springs and spa for a truly memorable experience. This is one of the most popular tours in Costa Rica. En route to the volcano, pass picturesque small villages, beautiful tropical landscapes, and tropical agricultural plantations. If it’s a clear day at La Fortuna—the closest town to the Volcano—enjoy impressive views of the majestic colossus. Costa Rica’s most active volcano periodically erupts, rumbling as it sends clouds of smoke and ash into the sky. Witness the spectacle of the Volcano at night as red lava snakes down its rocky slopes illuminating the sky like a magnificent display of fireworks. At the geothermal hot springs, get so close that you can actually feel the gentle rumblings of the Volcano.
All meals are included.

Day 7: Manuel Antonio National Park Coastal Eco-Trek
Soak up the natural beauty of Manuel Antonio National Park as you explore its rainforest hikes and stunning beaches. A day of paradise on Earth is yours for the taking at one of Costa Rica’s most sublime locations. Considered one of the most beautiful parks in the country, Manuel Antonio National Park’s stunning beaches and crystalline waters are bordered by lush, tropical rainforest that the region’s exotic flora and fauna call home—including monkeys, iguanas, birds, and even the occasional three-toed sloth. Make your way to the park as you drive along the coastline enjoying picturesque views of African palm plantations and the local villages of the Pacific Coast. Continue on foot into the park—inaccessible by vehicles—where the natural preserve awaits your exploration. Sunbathe on the beach, and take a dip in the ocean. Set out on a nature walk down one of the park’s many trails, and be sure to make it to Cathedral Point—offering panoramic views of the surrounding park and ocean. A guide to help you discover the park’s many wonders is yours for the day, as is an included lunch and snacks throughout your stay.
