Ride the Ducks of Seattle
Photo 1 / 3
Climb aboard, ducklings, for a lively land and sea tour of Seattle—complete with quackers and joke-cracking skippers. From the comfort of an open-air, amphibious WWII landing craft, the party rocks and rolls on wheels that float.

Board a Duck—the ‘fastest boat on the freeway’—and cruise up to 38 miles per hour (61 km/h) on this unforgettable tour of all that is Seattle. Enjoy a brief stop at the Seattle Center for glimpses of the Experience Music Project, a life-size replica of the Space Needle, and the Pacific Science Center. Look for your favorite medical team at Fisher Plaza, where scenes from TV’s “Grey’s Anatomy” were shot.

Your energetic skipper highlights each sight along the way with factoids that will inspire and music that will have you rocking in the aisle. Head for the waterfront and take in Elliot Bay, the Olympic Sculpture Park, the Victoria Clipper port, and the Edgewater Inn. Although you can’t see the infamous Room 272, you can book it and tell your friends you stayed where the Beatles stayed in 1964.

Other port-side points of interest include the cruise ship terminals, Bell Street Pier, Starbucks, and Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe—the oldest and perhaps creepiest shop on the waterfront. Cruise through Pioneer Square and discover why bricks are important to the city and the only day the Hammering Man takes a holiday. See the Pike Place Market and the Elephant Car Wash—the first automatic car wash in the U.S.

Hang on tightly as your party craft eases into Lake Union, to the sounds of the “Gilligan’s Island” theme, or another appropriate sailing song. On a slow cruise around the lake, take in the Aurora Bridge, the houseboat from “Sleepless in Seattle,” and Gas Works Park—where episodes of the “Amazing Race” were filmed. If you’re lucky, a Kenmore Air seaplane will share the waters with you for a take-off or a landing.

Once on dry land again, your skipper pulls the plug (literally), and safely, but not quietly, returns you to your home port at the end of a rocking and rolling tour of Seattle.
