Sweep past the patchwork farmland and vineyards corrugating the landscape of Australia’s oldest commercial wine-making region. Dotted with charming villages and over 50 wineries, the Hunter Valley produces award-winning varietals including: Semillon, Shiraz, chardonnay, gewürztraminer, cabernet sauvignon, and earthy pinot noirs.
Nestled among the hills in the lower valley, is historic Wollombi. Take a stroll in this rural valley and perhaps visit Wollombi Tavern for their famous and unique concoction called, Dr. Jurd’s Jungle Juice (free tasting included). Wollombi provides a quaint rest stop before spending time at McWilliams Mt Pleasant for a guided tour, wine tasting and sumptuous two course lunch. Continue to Oakvale Wines for a further tasting and then onto world renowned Lindemans.
A quick class on basic wine tasting is complemented by a cheese plate accompanying a sampling of various Lindeman’s wines—including a remarkable sparkling red and rich tawny. Afterward, head over to the Valley Gardens Village, where you can enjoy time at leisure for additional wine tasting or explore the specialty shops offering everything from wine, cheeses, and chocolates, to art, crafts, and unique gifts.

Important booking tip:
Many tour companies depart fron the Star City Coach Terminal. To find your coach, go behind the outdoor staircase into the bus bay and find the Gray Line customer service desk to check in where a representative will direct you to your departure point or guide. Please note: a fuel levy may be charged when world oil prices exceeed the allowance in the fare.

After you book your activity, follow these 3 easy steps:
1. Print your voucher; locate the voucher in your travel confirmation e-mail or in the My Trips/My Itineraries link on the site.
2. Follow the redemption instructions on your voucher; it is critical to do this before you depart.
3. Take all vouchers with you; you must redeem one voucher per person.
Exchange your voucher for activity:
Reservations are required. You will not be guaranteed a place on this tour without calling Gray Line Sydney at least 24 hours in advance of the date you wish to take this tour. The customer service phone number will appear on your printed voucher(s). You may also confirm if your hotel is on the pick-up route at this time. If your hotel is not on the pick-up route, you may meet the tour at Star City Coach Terminal; the address will appear on your voucher(s). Please present your voucher(s) to the staff member upon arrival at the Star City Terminal; you will be directed to your coach. Present your voucher(s) to the boarding staff as you board the coach. |
