The “Old World” charm of the fully uniformed drivers wearing top hats entertains you with stories from the past, present, and future of Victoria. Three main varieties of draft horses pull the stunning carriages: Percherons, Belgians, and Clydesdales.

By the Sea Tour
Start your tour alongside the Parliament buildings and continue through the historic James Bay neighborhood. Breathe in the fresh salt air as your driver turns onto the Dallas Road waterfront—the magnificent Olympic Mountains are sure to captivate! Head back through James Bay, past many local Heritage Homes, to Victoria's spectacular Inner Harbour.

Beacon Hill Park Tour
Wind through the city, past the recently restored St. Anne's Academy and into the oldest park in Victoria, home to a variety of trees and colorful flowers . Then make your way back through the historical James Bay neighborhood.

The Royal Tour
Begin your journey with breathtaking views of the majestic Empress Hotel, overlooking the Inner Harbor and its classic tall ships and sleek sailing vessels. As you enter Beacon Hill Park, fragrant flowers and delightful duck ponds surround you.

Continue on to the Dallas Road waterfront, passing Mile 0 of the Trans-Canada Highway, and take in the splendor of the Olympic Mountains and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The rest of your carriage ride is through the oldest neighborhood in Victoria, the location of an impressive variety of well-maintained historic homes and gardens. Very Best Tour
Head towards the Parliament Buildings along the Inner Harbor and then pass the Royal British Columbia Museum, the Crystal Gardens, Victoria's oldest church, and the recently restored St. Anne's Academy. Continue into Beacon Hill Park and its 86 acres of flowers, duck ponds, and wonderfully fragrant rose garden.

The spectacular Olympic Mountains fill the view as they jut out along the Strait of Juan de Fuca. From here, meander back through James Bay to the Inner Harbor, up Government Street to Chinatown and the Gate of Harmonious Interest, and back through the Old Town of Victoria with its stunning original waterfront buildings. The majestic Empress Hotel and landmark Parliament buildings greet you as you head back.

Participant restrictions:
Some steps are involved in getting in and out of the carriage, and Victoria Carriage Tours is unable to take walkers or wheel chairs in the carriage. However, they can be looked after by the ticket agent while you are on the tour.

Note:
Reservation confirmation is required. You will not be guaranteed a place on the tour without calling in advance of the date you wish to participate. The listed rate is per carriage. Each carriage can carry four to six passengers. All carriages can be covered in the event of rain; warm blankets are provided. Tour guide gratuity is not included and is at the participant’s discretion.

Redemption instructions

After you book your activity, follow these 3 easy steps:
1. Print your voucher; locate the voucher in your travel confirmation e-mail or in the My Trips/My Itineraries link on the site.
2. Follow the redemption instructions on your voucher; it iscritical to do this before you depart.
3. Take all vouchers with you; you must redeem one voucher per person.

Exchange your voucher for activity:
Reservation confirmation is required. You will not be guaranteed a place on the tour without calling at least 48 hours in advance of the date you wish to participate. On the day and time of your scheduled tour, please present your voucher(s) and photo ID to the driver.

Terms and conditions

Cancellations and Changes: This Activity can be changed or cancelled without penalty at any time prior to two days before the scheduled start of your trip. The scheduled start of your trip is defined as your hotel check-in date, your departure date of the originating flight, or the date of the Activity if the Activity was booked without a flight or a hotel.
