Great especially for the price.
This place was two block from the subway, about 4 block from central park. Very nice neighborhood and very close to stores and restaurants.

I would do it again, but beware
When we arrived in our room we had 2 double beds so we didnt complain but those kinds of things happening always make you wonder. We also had to share a bathroom down the hall. They do offer rooms with private bathrooms. The bathroom was always very clean but It creeps you out a bit showering in a bathroom where strangers have showered. I was a bit disgusted with the bedding. Sheets are very old and worn out and there is literally no mattress covers on the beds. Another thing that made me nervous was the main door to the street was propped completely open 24/7 with no doorman. Anyone could walk in off the street and go up to your room. Having said that, the doors to our rooms were new, sturdy and had very good locks on them. All in all, the neighborhood seemed safe and quiet. Access to the subway was just at the end of the street so you could get to times Square or anywhere very conveniently. When I checked out they didnt hand me any kind of receipt and said I was good to go. Thought that was odd . The hotel has some charm as it is very old. That made for an adventure and an experience. If you dont have money to burn and you are desperate to be in New York, this will definitely get you there for a very reasonable price.
