Great price for the quality of staff and features in Waikiki
Although the bed was not the best in the industry, the room was great! The kitchenette was unexpected and fit the bill perfect. Housekeeping service was great and kept the place looking good every day. The pool was a little small but never over crowded. Being at the end of the strip was better than being in the middle of it. Beaches were not far and anything I wanted to do was only a phone call away to the staff. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Waikiki on a budget or anyone who is a bit tight with there money.
If you are military take the time to visit the Air Force base as it is like a museum and has the best beach in Honolulu. If you are there during Winter make sure to check out North Shore waves. They are something to stun you!

Nice Lobby, Generic Room, Hard Mattress
The lobby was a pleasant surprise. It has been recently remodelled and is really attractive and modern. The room however was very much like any other hotel in that price range, very generic, which for me was neither good nor bad. But my expectations were set a little higher after seeing the lobby. The staff was great with any request I had. The location, too, was quite convenient for my needs. I was in town for a conference, so I needed to be able to get to my meetings with a minimum of hastle. Unfortunately, there was a single issue which overshadowed the whole experience: the bed was rock hard. Now there are some who enjoy a hard mattress. I am not one of them. The mattress was so hard that I basically got no sleep for the two nights that I stayed there.
If you are coming to Honolulu on vacation, I recommend NOT renting a car, unless you are traveling with small children. Take the bus to go anywhere in Honolulu, including the airport to your hotel. Its currently only $2.25 per person and the bus drivers will gladly help you with directions. Renting a car is a hastle, traffic is terrible, and parking will raise your blood pressure, all of which is the opposite of what you want from your tropical island vacation. If you want to take a day trip to the north shore, etc. take an excursion bus or rent a car for the day.
