An unique experience
My sister and I spent three lovely days in Amsterdam and this hotel made our trip even more enjoyable. There was a power cut in the city and we had to wait a little while for our room. Therefore they updated us to a suite called Ladies Jongsma (which was a really nice surprise). The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming and the room was totally adorable with its pink furniture. The whole hotel was very sophisticated in a bohemian way. If you like to experience something little extra but dont expect a super polished hotel rooms, this is your place. Ill recommend this hotel to my friends and will definately stay there again.

Great experience.
I dealt with several of the personnel and found each one pleasant and helpful. One called and located the closest place to exchange our voucher for the Iamsterdam card. Another directed us to restaurants and a convenience store. On our departure a third clerk called for a taxi to the airport and it arrived in less than 10 minutes. The fare was 37 Euro as advertised. The pleasure of our 3-day stay was greatly enhanced by the hotel staff. Free wireless internet was another perk.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
The Iamsterdam card was great. We used the tram several times each day. We also toured the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh museum, Rembrandhuis, Hermitage Amsterdam, Houseboat museum and took a 90-minute canal tour. All this was included in the 72-hour card for 58 Euro. The free admissions more than paid for the card and free tram access was invaluable in touring the city.

Not much nearby
The hotel was ok. There were few restaurants nearby and it was necessary to take the tram everyday for any destination. Getting into some parts of the central area of Amsterdam required 2 or 3 different connections. I found the staff to be helpful and the hotel garden was a real plus. It should be noted that the garden is much smaller than photos would suggest. Hotel description suggests that it is across the street from Vondelpark when it is actually about a 2 block walk to the nearest entrance. Free morning coffee was a plus.
Traveler's tip on dining
For a very special dining experience while in Amsterdam, I recommend Vinkeles ... a fine restaurant in the Dylan Hotel.
