"Best bang for the buck and some"
We just got back 02/06/2010 and we had a wondeful time.The staff was incredible and took care of our every need.The enterainment staff was excellent and very exciting and upbeat. From the wait staff to housekeeping they were on the ball.Excellent place for newly weds to families to retired couples it was great.Always had plenty of food to eat and PLENTY to drink..lol..I’m already planning a return trip.If your looking for quality and a great bang for the buck you cannot beat the GR Solaris..We booked our transfer thru best day and they where waiting on us when we arrived and they also picked us up on time for departure.

our trip to Cancun
Upon arriving at the Cancun airport, we had previously made taxi reservations (Best Day Taxi Service). When asked a fellow where was Best Day, he said he was Best Day, but it turned out he was trying to sell excursion trips. When arriving at GR Solaris, we were greeted by a fellow that brought us drinks and give us a tour of the hotel. This was appreciated, however, he wanted us to attend a 90 minute presentation, which we opted out. The food was good, except the Marco Polo Dining Room, which you had to have reservations I noticed a few others leaving early from the dining room. All the other eating places were very good. All-in-all, we enjoyed the trip.

Good and Bad
So here is the good-the rooms were clean and cozy, we had a very nice view of an amazing beach, and the Marco Polo Restaraunt was amazing. Also, Vincent the scuba instructor at the resort was a great person. The bad-do not we repeat do not book excursions through Best Day Travel. We ended up getting sick from the water or food at the hotel and had to cancel our excursion and they did nothing for us..no credit...no refund...3 weeks after the trip and after many phone calls and emails i finally was told i could get a credit but only for the exact excursion in the exact place...um hello we plan to never return so why ccouldnt the company accomodate us in one of their US locations...because that would be too much like right. Also we were not impressed with the food in general or the drinks. Take the bus it will take you anywhere and its cheap..just make sure you know how to convert to pesos. Also when in the airport walk past the people that you first run into they are there to try and get you to go see timeshares..if you already booked transportation (which we advise you do ahead of time) walk outside the airport and all the transportation companies will be out there. The airport will convert cash for you but hotels will not convert it back so you have to convert back on your way back to the U.S. Make sure you get it broken down into small amounts for tipping and the bus and bartering.
